Naruto (NARUTO - ナ
ルト) is a Japanese
manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto with an anime
adaptation. The main character, Naruto Uzumaki, is a loud, hyperactive,
unpredictable adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition and
aspires to become a Hokage, the ninja in the village acknowledged as the leader
and the strongest of all.
Kishimoto first authored a one-shot of Naruto in
the August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump. The plot differed substantially in
that Naruto was the son of the demon fox instead of being the container, and
the story was placed in a more modern setting. This early version of Naruto
already had the ability to transform into a sexy young woman - but when he did
so, a fox tail sprouted. Kishimoto then rewrote the story to its current form,
which was first published by Shueisha in 1999 in the 43rd issue of Japan's Shonen
Jump magazine. As of volume 36, the manga has sold over 71 million copies
in Japan. Viz Media publishes a translated version in the American Shonen
Jump magazine. Naruto has become Viz's best-selling manga
series. To date, the first 27 volumes are available. In order to catch up to
the translated anime, Viz plans to release volumes 16 to 27 three at a time
over the months of September to December 2007.
The first of two anime series, produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex, premiered across Japan on the terrestrial TV Tokyo network and the anime satellite television network Animax on October 3, 2002, and is still being aired. Viz also licensed the anime for North American production. Naruto debuted in the United States on Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block on September 10, 2005, and in Canada on YTV's Bionix on September 16, 2005. Naruto began showing in the UK on Jetix on July 22, 2006. It began showing on Toasted TV on January 12, 2007 in Australia, which features the German dub opening, although it could be watched on Cartoon Network in 2006. The first series lasted nine seasons, while Naruto: Shippuuden began its first on February 15, 2007.

Setting
Naruto has a large number of characters, most of
whom are ninjas. They initially study at the Ninja Academy, where the story
begins, are split up into squads of three after their graduation and become
Genin, rookie ninja. Each squad is assigned an experienced sensei. These
core squads form a basis for the characters' interactions later in the series,
where characters are chosen for missions for their team's strength and
complementary skills; Naruto's squad 7 becomes the social frame where Naruto is
acquainted with Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and their sensei Kakashi
Hatake, forming the core of his world-in-the-making. The other three-man teams
of his former classmates form another such layer, as Naruto connects with them
to various degrees, learning of their motives, vulnerabilities, and
aspirations. The groups of three are not limited to the comrades Naruto's
age – groups in the story in general come in threes and multiples of
three.
In the Naruto world, countries operate as
separate political entities ruled by landlords. Within these countries are
hidden villages(éš ã‚Œé‡Œ kakurezato), settlements housing ninja,
warriors capable of using supernatural abilities in combat. A hidden village
maintains the economy of the parent country by training ninja from a young age
and using them to perform missions for other countries. The ninja of a hidden
village also serve as the military force of their parent country. The leaders
of the hidden villages hold equal status with the leaders of their respective
countries. Five countries in the Naruto world—the Land of Earth, the
Land of Fire, the Land of Lightning, the Land of Water, and the Land of
Wind—are known as the "Five Great Shinobi Nations". These countries
are the most powerful in the Naruto world. They are ruled by a feudal
lord, and the leaders of the hidden villages in these countries hold the title
of Kage. Other apparently smaller nations have been named in passing, in either
the manga or anime, but are yet to be explored.
Plot
Naruto Uzumaki is a young boy who has the Nine-Tailed
Demon Fox sealed within him. Twelve years before the start of the series, the
Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked the ninja village Konohagakure, slaughtering
many people. In response, the leader of Konohagakure – the Fourth
Hokage – sacrificed his life to seal the demon inside Naruto when he was a
newborn. Konohagakure, however, regarded Naruto as if he were the demon fox
itself and mistreated him throughout most of his childhood. A decree made by
the Third Hokage forbade anyone mention the attack of the demon fox to anyone.
Years later, Naruto was tricked by the renegade ninja Mizuki into stealing a
forbidden scroll, but was stopped by his teacher, Iruka Umino. That encounter
made Naruto realize he was the container of the demon fox.
The main story follows Naruto and his friends' personal
growth. Naruto befriends two comrades, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, who are
assigned with him to form a three-person team under an experienced sensei named
Kakashi Hatake. Naruto also befriends other characters that he meets throughout
the series. They learn new abilities, get to know each other and other
villagers better, and experience a coming-of-age journey as Naruto dreams of
becoming the Hokage of Konohagakure. At first, emphasis is placed on Naruto,
Sasuke, and Sakura, who are the members of Team 7. Later, Orochimaru, a
criminal at the top of Konohagakure's most wanted list, attacks Konoha killing
the Third Hokage as an act of revenge. This causes one of the three legendary
ninja, Jiraiya to search for his partner Tsunade, to become the Fifth Hokage.
During that search, it is revealed that Orochimaru also desires to acquire
Sasuke Uchiha due to his powerful genetic heritage. Believing Orochimaru will
be able to give him the strength needed to kill his brother Itachi, who
destroyed all his clan, Sasuke goes to him. Naruto does not give up on Sasuke,
leaving Konoha for two-and-a-half years of training to prepare himself for the
next time he meets Sasuke.
After the training period, a mysterious organization
called Akatsuki attempts to capture the nine powerful tailed beasts including
the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed inside of Naruto. Several ninjas from
Konohagakure, including Team 7, fight against the Akatsuki members and search
for their teammate Sasuke. Sasuke, in the meantime betrays Orochimaru and faces
Itachi to take revenge. Although Itachi dies, Sasuke is told by the Akatsuki
founder Madara Uchiha that Itachi was ordered by Konohagakure's leadership to
destroy his clan. Saddened with the revelation, Sasuke joins forces with
Akatsuki to destroy Konohagakure. Meanwhile, as several Akatsuki members are
defeated by the Konohagakure ninja, the leader, Pain, invades the village to
capture Naruto.

Before
Naruto's birth, a great demon fox had attacked the Hidden Leaf Village. A man
known as the 4th Hokage sealed the demon inside the newly born Naruto, causing
him to unknowingly grow up detested by his fellow villagers. Despite his lack
of talent in many areas of ninjutsu, Naruto strives for only one goal: to gain
the title of Hokage, the strongest ninja in his village. Desiring the respect
he never received, Naruto works towards his dream with fellow friends Sasuke
and Sakura and mentor Kakashi as they go through many trials and battles that
come with being a ninja.
Goal
By : Unknown0=[==>>Goal
Main Goal
The organisation's initial goal — under Yahiko's
leadership — was aimed at bringing peace to Amegakure and the world on a larger
scale, this would later be distorted by the influence of others.
Although some of the post-Yahiko members joined
Akatsuki to further their own goals, all are united in Akatsuki's ultimate goal
of gaining world domination.[5] Nagato
has mentioned a three-step process to work their way towards this goal.[6] First,
they plan to obtain a large amount of money to support their organisation.[6] Second,
they plan to set up a mercenary
group loyal only to Akatsuki.[7] To
build their reputation, they plan to accept any mission below the usual cost
and operate off of the excess funds earned in the first part of their plan.[7] Because
there haven't been any wars in some time, many of the more powerful and well
known shinobi villages couldn't afford to accomplish such missions as such low
prices, leading the smaller countries to hire Akatsuki over the more expensive
shinobi villages.[7] By
using the tailed beasts, Akatsuki would start wars and then immediately quell
them, solidifying their reputation and convincing every country to depend on
them, thus cornering the market in shinobi labour.[8] Without
any business, the other shinobi villages would collapse due to the lack of
funds.[8] Finally,
after Akatsuki is the only major force of shinobi in existence, they can easily
conquer the other countries.[8] Members
do not automatically learn of the plan upon joining; Hidan didn't find out
about it until he had been a member for quite some time.[6]
The tailed
beasts, nine gigantic demons of immense power, are the main focus of much
of Akatsuki's efforts and screen time within the series. Each member is
assigned to capture one of the nine beasts alive or, in most cases, the person
that beast has been sealed into.[9] Akatsuki
has sealed seven of the nine beasts before the start of theFourth Shinobi World War.[10]
Yahiko's Goal
Under Yahiko's leadership, the group was meant to put
an end to the wars that would take place in Amegakure and bring about peace.[2] When
he was younger, Yahiko also noted that he disliked the fact that it always
rained in his country, as if all the country did was weep and he wanted to
change that. This may be where the name of the organisation literally meaning
"daybreak" comes from. He also noted that the organisation was meant
to act as a support unit for Nagato, whom he believed would bring peace to the
world.
Obito's Goal
Main article: Eye of the Moon PlanAfter Rin Nohara's
death and Kakashi Hatake's inability to protect her, a
grief-stricken Obito declared that he would create a world that she was in.[11] With
this goal in mind Obito returned to Madara
Uchiha who had saved his life after the events of the Kannabi
Bridge,[12] and
decided to partake in his plan to revive the Ten-Tails by
gathering all the tailed beasts that had been created by the Sage of the Six Paths, and fusing them back
into one, single beast with the goal of becoming its jinchūriki. After this he would
cast an Infinite Tsukuyomi onto the moon and control
humanity thereby bringing "world peace". Adopting the legend's name
after his death, Obito would take measured actions to bring the plan to
fruition until Madara could be revived. Obito has also noted that everything he
is doing is to rebuild the Uchiha clan's
pride, and he would use Sasuke
Uchiha to do so.[13] Kisame
Hoshigaki and Zetsu are the only two Akatsuki members who know of this
plan.
Pain's Goal
Pain later goes into further detail on the tailed
beasts' role in his plans. The beasts would be used to create a deadlyKinjutsu technique
that could wipe out one of the five great nations in an instant, so if
countries go to war and do not have ninja villages to fight for them, they
would turn to Akatsuki and their "weapon". Whichever side has Pain
use the technique first would wipe out the opposing country. After witnessing
the mass destruction caused by the weapon, the other remaining countries would
become too afraid to start wars for fear of being wiped out as well. Thus,
through this mutual fear, war would cease to exist and the world would know
peace, until the people forget that fear and use the weapon again. Thus the
cycle would repeat, creating small periods of peace in an endless chain of
hatred.[14]
Apparently, Pain and Konan were the
only Akatsuki members aware of this part of the plan. After Pain's death and
Konan's defection, this goal has been ceased.
Itachi's Goal
After the Uchiha clan massacre and leaving Konoha,
Itachi, instead of using the tailed beasts for his own self-interest, continued
to protect the village by joining Akatsuki and keeping an eye on the villagers,
especially Sasuke, from the outside. During his time in the group, Itachi would
delay his own attempts to capture the Nine-Tails, indirectly leaked information
about the organisation to Konoha, and attempted to kill Tobi through Sasuke.
Wardrobe
By : Unknown
Wardrobe
Akatsuki members have a very distinctive wardrobe,
which could give them away if a village is alerted of their presence. Members
wear long, dark cloaks with red clouds, a red interior, and a chin-high collar.
Tobi and the members of Taka wear a similarly marked hooded mantle.
The red clouds represent the rain of blood that fell in Amegakure during
its wars, and were seen as a symbol of justice by its original members.[15] All
members wear black nail polish on their fingers and toenails, although the
colours vary in the anime, and may wear a conical straw hat with small
ornamental torques and tassels hanging down over their faces. The hats may be
used to move around in the general population unnoticed, or for when the
weather requires one.[16] Some members cross out the symbol on their forehead
protectors to symbolise the broken ties with their former villages, a
practice originating with Nagato and his rival faction in Amegakure's civil
war. Others members simply cease wearing them altogether, for several reasons.
Everyone also wears a ring with a kanji on different fingers depending on who
the member is.
Now that the original members of Akatsuki (Konan and Nagato)
are dead, Tobi seems to have changed the garb to his own preference after
revealing his new mask and outfit-which are robes without the red clouds.
